Philip Poupin

I was thinking about the photo of Willie Apiata VC in Kabul, Afghanistan. Everyone seems to have an opinion over whether or not it should have been published and if John Key did the right thing etc...

All I really feel permitted to say is boy, that photographer (Philip Poupin) can take a mean shot. All of these are from Afghanistan:

In his own words "I, as everyone, need to remember to behave better the day after. Because we all have a tendency to forget, I try to make people remember by showing them photographies." So instead of trying to put down in words the immensity of the War in Afghanistan I'm just going to pass on the pictures. Is that okay?

Less Self-Conscious and More Farmstock

I tagged along to Farmstock just before Christmas. As the name suggests it was music on a (kinda) farm. The proceeds went to Tearfund. That's nice ain't it? There was a tractor and a BBQ plus a field of long grass to take faux-romantic portraits in. It was good.

The Subterranes played at just the right moment of Twilight:

Jerry loves sausages and the camera loves Jerry.

The camera loves Susan and Cass and they love the camera.
